The Holiday Inn Amsterdam offers the perfect location for the business and leisure traveler. Situated in the most important business district of Amsterdam, along the A10 Ring road and a short walk from the RAI Exhibition and Congress Centre. The World Trade Centre is only 5 minutes away. The RAI station offers frequent direct connections to Schiphol Airport and the city centre of Amsterdam. The KLM shuttle bus has a stop in front of the hotel. The hotel has its own car park. Metro and Train stations to downtown Amsterdam are nearby.

Schiphol Airport

Information and help desks:
There are several information desks in Departures, Arrivals and inside the departure lounges, plus a public information telephone helpline (tel: 0900 0141 from within the Netherlands, or 20 601 2000 or 20 601 3652).

Airport Facilities:
Banks offer VAT reclaim facilities and currency exchange machines are available 24 hours a day. The main bureau de change is open 0300-2330, and there are others with shorter opening hours. An ATM is in the West Lounge. The airport has a 24 hour medical centre, a pharmacy, a post office in the central lounge, post boxes around the Terminal, fax machines at various gates and mobile phone rental at the Arrivals 1 information desk. Shower facilities can be found at the Terminal hotel, and there are several restaurants, bars and cafés. There is a multitude of shops on both sides of immigration, plus duty-free shopping, a sauna and a casino available to passengers only.

Disabled Facilities:
Assistance for disabled travelers is provided either by airlines or by IHD Schiphol Service, which can also help with foreign language information services. A textphone for hearing-impaired people is provided.

Business Facilities:
The Business Centre, open to all passengers, has offices to rent with fax, personal computer and telephone facilities plus a secretarial service if required. There are also conference rooms with extensive telecommunications equipment. It is open 0830-1730 Monday to Friday (tel: 20 653 2480; fax: 20 653 2566). There is also a group meeting room that can cater for groups of up to 70. It must be booked in advance for a minimum of two hours (tel: 20 601 4603; fax: 20 601 2742). Catering can be provided on request. Mobile phones are available to rent at the airport information desk in Arrivals 1. Computers, printers and mobile telephones for making and receiving both local and international calls can also be rented from KPN Telecom Rentcentre (tel: 20 653 0999; fax: 20 653 0998), which is open 0700-2200. The major airlines have executive lounges, which offer some business facilities.

Car Rental:
Rental companies include Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National/Alamo and Sixt.

Car Parking:
There are two short-term parking garages, both within walking distance of the Terminal. Long-term parking is available in an open-air car park 4km (2.5m) from the Terminal; a free 24 hour shuttle bus leaves every ten minutes for the Terminal.

Driving Directions:
Schiphol lies on the E19, an easy 18km (11m) drive from Amsterdam. The A10 is the Amsterdam ring road. Schiphol is close to the A4 motorway linking Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam.

Public Transport & Taxis:
Taxis are available just outside the Arrivals hall; a trip into the city takes around 15 minutes. A general information line (tel: 0900 9292) deals with all public transport enquiries. There is a railway station in the Terminal's central plaza, running direct trains to Amsterdam Central Station every 15 minutes from 0600 to 2400 and every hour through the night. The journey takes 20 minutes. There is also a direct link between Schiphol and Amsterdam's RAI Congress Centre, with trains running every 15 minutes from 0525-0010. The reservation-only, high-speed Thalys train (tel: 0900 9292) serves Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Brussels and Paris and has facilities for disabled travelers. Public buses run regularly to Amsterdam and other cities. KLM (tel: 020 405 6565) operates a blue shuttle bus service to the city centre from 0600-2300, departing every 30 minutes and stopping at a number of hotels, before returning to Schiphol.
